A HydroSure pipe chamfering tool designed to deburr and round the edge of 16mm-63mm MDPE or HDPE pipe. This essential tool creates a smooth leading edge so the pipe can slide past the internal ‘O’-Ring of a compression fitting without damaging it. For watertight underground compression connections, it is important to maintain the structure of an ‘O’-Ring within a compression fitting. This essential practice of blunting the edge of pipe when installing an underground irrigation system primarily functions to preserve the water-tight seal between a compression fitting and pipe by protecting the composition of an ‘O’-Ring.

Easy to Use

To ensure a clean edge, prepare the pipe by cutting it to length using pipe cutters. Then, simply place the chamfer over the end of the pipe and twist by hand to reduce the outside angle of the pipe wall. Top Tip: For an even smoother leading edge, the metal tip of the chamfering tool fits into the end of a drill.

Functional Features

The pipe chamfer tool arrives complete with a built-in slot that separates the burr removed from the pipe to prevent it from falling back into the centre bore - perfect for easy disposal of any loose burr that may clog sprinklers or valves. The positioning of this slot also helps to create a guard between the person operating the tool and the sharp internal blade. Please Note: The chamfering tool has a very sharp edge – take care when using.
